Crushed in an old hand-operated basket press, the 100% Syrah grapes are hand-picked from a single vineyard in Suisun Valley AVA. Gorgeous pinkish orange hue dance in the glass. A wonderful bouquet of watermelon, raspberry, orange zest, clove, and wet stone.
Not the Rosé, you may be expecting, this wine has some shoulders with a rich mouth feel and a weightiness on the palate that allows for great versatility with pairing. It carries a good level of acid with an almost oily texture over the mid palate and is bone dry with little to no sweetness. The fruit is melange of raspberry and strawberry and finishes with a slight orange zest like spice and bitterness. On the palate it leaves you craving the next sip, which is always a great sign.
This is a wine that is less about acidity and elegance and is more about savoury richness with its bold, expressive flavours. A joy to be enjoyed ice cold on the patio or fire up the BBQ and enjoy the perfect pairing with BBQed proteins such as chicken or pork.
