Artist, wine geek and insufferable car fanatic Tim Mitchell saw the interconnection of his 3 passions come together in the creation of CHAOS Wine Company in 2010.

An artist from the moment he could make marks on paper (or walls) his Mum said he was born with a pencil in hand. His earliest years were spent drawing his matchbox and dinky cars on every scrap of paper he came across.

Art was naturally in his blood and the obvious connection between art, design and the stunning shapes and liveries of cars, be it the magnificent and simple shape of a vintage VW Bug or red white & blue of Martini Porsche’s epic paint work. The marriage of art and the automobile became an indelible part of Tim’s life and creative works.

In later years the love of wine was discovered…a bottle of 1990 Sassacia will do that to you…(Thanks Glenn!)

The stories, the people, the history….the vintages and the sense of place…Terrior. The love was almost instant and resonated deeply, begining a journey of exploration, education, some adventures…and lets not forget a lot of fun a long the way. This led to the first step, when Tim with his brother Owen (a mad wine genious in his own right), started importing wine into Canada.

The insider view of this ancient world…wine makers drive and passion for excellence rang with the same focus and spirit of artists, & that drove early (and present) car makers…but what really stood out was the reoccuring theme of how time and place so greatly impacted the inspiration and creation of all three…
